Home Research Brain Tumors

The Children's Hospital has a comprehensive research program for childhood brain tumors, which includes laboratory investigations designed to identify new treatment strategies and clinical studies that evaluate the safety and effectiveness of these new approaches. This effort is led by Peter C. Phillips, MD, whose research has identified new brain tumor treatment strategies with recombinant toxins, cell cycle growth inhibitors, cell signaling inhibitors, and vitamin D derivatives. Dr. Phillips and colleagues are also developing molecular tools to predict the clinical behavior of medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor, at the time of diagnosis.
