Stephan A. Grupp, MD, PhD

Stephan A. Grupp, MD, PhD is the Director of Translational Research for the CCCR and his laboratory study the B cells that normally make immunoglobulins (anitbodies). When these cells do not mature properly, ALL is the result. Dr. Grupp's laboratory has identified a critical pathway, mTOR (molecular target of rapamycin), which is essential for normal B cell development; abnormalities in this pathway are fundamental to the development of ALL and many other types of cancer.
